Our philosophy is that any dining at Glenfalloch based around what you, the guest would like. Being a small property means we are able to tailor each guest's wishes to produce a memorable dining experience. Each seasons, we create menus that showcase the spectacular produce available in Canterbury and north of Christchurch . We are very proud of the relationships that we have developed with our local suppliers and buying local not only assures us of freshness and quality control, it reduces our carbon footprint too. We like to work with our guests to create the perfect meal selection during your time with us. Everything from morning tea through to dinner is tailor made to suit your requirements. We want you to experience a sense of surprise when you dine either on the cliff top under the stars or in one of dining rooms - something delicious, exciting and unexpected! We would like to re-awaken your taste-buds...
As well as Dinner we offer BREAKFAST and LUNCH for our guests-so no cooking is required-
BREAKFAST-As you walk into the kitchen the aromas of fresh coffee, homemade breads, are the first items of note. Each morning you will be greeted by a sumptuous continental buffet, coupled if requested with an extensive cooked menu.
LUNCH is not bound by any limits. We are happy to arrange lunch either in one of the kitchens of the houses, outside in the sun-soaked Courtyard, as a picnic around the property, or even a Musterers' lunch complete with personal attends anywhere- on the top of the mountain, at a glacier lakes or at tarns between tussock or in the river bed.....
IT IS EASY TO SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY out and about enjoying the property and its surrounding region, should you wish the Glenfalloch Team can pack any sized picnic hamper that you require; and better yet if you are on the property we are happy to deliver it and set it up in a prearranged location to save carrying it with you. During the heli-skiing season Lake Heron Station (Anne and Philip Todhunter) and Glenfalloch are providing heli-lunches to Methven Heli- and the chocolate cake is well remembered.
Glenfalloch's dinner menu changes to reflect the seasons and features contemporary twists on New Zealand classics such as Beef, Duck, Venison, Hare and of course Lamb. The entire dinner experience can start off with pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the lounge, or at the Courtyard or Clifftop overlooking the Rakaia River . A selection of fine New Zealand wines are available for tasting, along side a well-stocked bar comprised of premium spirits and liqueurs. This is a good chance for guests to review the day, and even plan the following days activities.
Dining at Glenfalloch resembles a private dinner party, with guests seated at grand tables. We offer a three or two course option to choose from. At Glenfalloch Station we are happy to cater to the particular needs of our guests. As our meals are planned at least a week in advance, please notify us early if you have any particular dietary requirements. |
