Postponment of the 24th of July..... Poster_escape.jpg

Last update (221 July 2011)

As many of you will be aware freezing temperatures and snow is forecast to low levels around Canterbury on Sunday. While we believe Sunday will dawn fine here at Glenfalloch Station we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Escape The City family fun day.

We’ve spent months planning this event and it is very disappointing to have to pull the plug at this late stage but we think conditions are likely to put people off venturing out. We’re also conscious that if the forecasts are correct some of the roads around the region might become quite treacherous and we don’t want to make people drive in bad conditions unless they have to.

It is very disappointing to have to cancel at this late stage because we were all set to go but I think this is the right decision to make.

We would have loved to have welcomed you all to our high country station and to have helped you forget your troubles for a few hours but sadly the weather gods have conspired against us.

We will be refunding tickets costs for those who pre-purchased their tickets.

Please accept our apologies for this late cancellation.

Keep safe and keep warm!

GeHing here

Hi there,

The last few months have been a difficult and stressful time for all of us in Christchurch and Canterbury and the tough times are not over yet.

Glenfalloch Station we’re very mindful of the stresses people are facing and are keen to do what we can to ease people’s load, which is why we’ve decided to throw open our gates and invite you to join us for a day on our beautiful high of the Rakaia River , about two hours drive from Christchurch . While still a working farm, in recent years we’ve converted some of our farm buildings into boutique accommodation and a conference venue for small groups. It’s one of Canterbury ’s hidden gems!

We are planning on holding the family fun day on

Sunday, July 24.

We’ve chosen July because the weather then is normally fairly stable and there will be plenty of snow on the surrounding Southern Alps , which will add a magical winter’s touch to the event.

So please keep July 24 free and head up to join us in our winter wonderland. We promise a warm welcome and a day to remember with live entertainment, artisan market, farmers market and a few surprises…

Bring your whole family or say a special thank you to someone who has helped you through this difficult time.

The gates to Glenfalloch Station will be open from 11am to 3pm and tickets can be purchased online at www.glenfalloch-station.co.nz or at Traiteurs  of  Merivale or  at mercato, Fitzgerald Ave, Christchurch from Monday,11th July . Tickets price will be  $20 per car

We look forward to welcoming you and to helping you put your worries aside, for a few hours at least.

Kind regards  The Todhunter Family
